Business Procedure Update

To Our Valued Customers,

We continue to monitor and update our business procedures as we keep the safety and health of our team and our customers a top priority.

Below are the measures Security 1st Title has implemented to maintain our ability to deliver the services you depend on.

Our Customers:

  • Should contact us prior to closing by phone if:
    • They have experienced any illness symptoms. These symptoms are not limited to; fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
    • Suspect that they have been exposed to someone with a respiratory virus such as; Coronavirus (COVID-19), RSV, Flu, etc.
    • Have health concerns in general, and we will make special arrangements for the closing.
  • Should call our office upon arrival in the parking lot and we will let them know if our closing room is available and ready for them to enter.
  • Will be asked to wear a face mask in public areas of our facilities.
  • With buyer financing, the seller should plan on arriving 20 minutes after the scheduled start time of the closing.

Our Staff:

  • Will be required to stay home if they experience any illness symptoms, especially if associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • May be asked to work remotely, and will be available for you via email and phone.
  • Will be wearing a mask when not able to social distance within the office.
  • May wear gloves as a preference, but all staff wash hands and utilize hand sanitizer multiple times throughout the day, including before and after each customer interaction.

Our Facilities:

  • Are open for business to support the products and services we provide. Doors are unlocked at this time. Due to the smaller size of some closing rooms, we may limit access to required signors in order to maintain the recommended social distance.
  • Will continue to accept executed contracts and earnest money. Please utilize drive-up windows, and drop boxes, where available.
  • Will continue to be frequently cleaned and disinfected, with special attention and treatment given to high traffic areas.
  • Will have face masks available for any visitors.
  • Will have gloves available to anyone who prefers to wear them.

Our Title Work:

  • We are currently furnishing title work with normal turn-time.

Our Closing Process:

  • We do have e-sign capabilities available for documents that do not require a notary, subject to lender approval.
  • For documents requiring a notary, we provide the following options:
  1. ON PREMISES – We ask the signor to wait in their vehicle until the time of their signing. Upon entering our office, if the signor(s) are not wearing a face mask, they will be offered one we provide. Then they will be escorted directly to the closing room. Our closing staff will remain at the recommended safe distance from all parties at all times and perform the closing and notarize the documents in the room. New pens will be furnished for each closing. NOTE: Access is restricted at this time to only the required parties involved in the transaction.

  2. CURBSIDE – Please let us know prior to arriving if this is the preferred closing option. The signing parties may choose to remain in their vehicle. They can call our office to notify our closing staff where they are parked, and a member of our closing team will greet them at their vehicle, witness the execution of their documents, and notarize their signature after verifying their ID.

  3. MOBILE NOTARY – The signing parties can inform our closing staff of their location, and a mobile notary will be employed to greet them at that location, when available in that area. Additional fees will apply.

If you have any questions, please contact your local office. By working together and communicating more, we can complete your transactions more effectively.
